HRH Princess Sabeeka receives Arab League Secretary General

Manama, Feb. 6 (BNA): Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), received at Al-Rawdha Palace today Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit on the occasion of his visit to Bahrain to attend the 36th session of the Arab League's Arab Women Committee and the preparatory meeting for the 61st session of the United Nation's Commission on the Status of Women (CSW). HRH Princess Sabeeka underlined strong relations set up by the Arab leaders and their keenness to bolster pan-Arab work under the umbrella of the Arab League . She also praised the role of the Arab League , mainly the Directorate of Women, Family and Children, in empowering Arab women at the regional and international level. The Arab League Secretary General expressed appreciation of Bahrain's hosting of the Arab Women Committee's activities under the patronage of HRH Princess Sabeeka and her personal support to the advancement march of the Arab women. He commended HRH Princess Sabeeka's efforts to promote pan-Arab work and boost the Arab women's rights. He also praised the political will in Bahrain and awareness of the important role of women in the community.
