Bahrain, Turkish health cooperation discussed

Ankara, Feb.11 (BNA): Supreme Council for Health (SCH) Chairman Lieutenant-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa met Turkish Health Minister Recep Akdag and discussed ways of developing joint cooperation. The meeting focused on the Turkish strides in promoting health self-management of hospitals and health centres, as Bahrain plans to launch the health insurance scheme. The Turkish minister welcomed the delegation led by Lt-Gen. Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa, hailing their dedicated efforts to benefit from the Turkish practices in implementing the Kingdom’s health insurance scheme. The delegation also includes Royal Medical Services Commander Major-General Dr. Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al-Khalifa and other officials representing the Supreme Council for Heath, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Finance and the Economic Development Board.
