Bahrain-Kerala Business Forum held

Manama, Feb.11 (BNA): The Bahrain-Kerala Business Forum convened today at the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay in Manama. The Economic Development Board (EDB) organized the business symposium on the sidelines of the visit of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Senior officials and leading Bahraini and Indian businessmen attended the forum during which Chief Minister Vijayan outlined investment opportunities in the State of Kerala, particularly in the sectors of technologies, health and educational services and food industries. He extended greetings to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier. He hailed deep-rooted historical relations and steadily-growing cooperation pointing out that Keralites make up a major bulk of 60 per cent of the whole Indian expatriate community in Bahrain. Industry, Commerce and Industry Minister Zayed bin Rashid Alzayani commended deep-rooted relations growing cooperation binding Bahrain and Indian. He stressed the importance of the economic and investment strides in Indian, particularly Kerala which witness a fast growth in economic indicators, per capita income, education and human resources development. The Kingdom of Bahrain, the minister said, has succeeded since the beginning of the millennium, in diversifying the sources of national revenue, adding that non-oil sectors now contribute more than 80% to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP)> Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Chairman Khalid bin Abdulrahman Almoayyed, Lulu Group Chairman Yusuffali and Indian Ambassador to Bahrain Alok Kumar also addressed the business forum.
