GCC, Japan discuss environment cooperation

Tokyo, Feb. 14 (BNA): Chief Executive of the Supreme Council For Environment (SCE), Dr. Mohammed Mubarak bin Dinah, today chaired the second high-level meeting between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Japan staged by the Ministry of the Environment in Tokyo. On the sidelines of the meeting, the delegation paid a visit to a government waste management institution, where it was briefed on its tasks and activities and the technological and industrial innovations in the same area. The delegation held another meeting with officials from Japanese companies specialized in waste management and recycling and discussed cooperation and benefiting from Japanese expertise in the preservation of the environment and sustainable development. SCE CEO praised the vital role of Japanese companies specialized in waste management in promoting the preservation of the environment and reducing emissions. He highlighted Bahrain's keenness on benefiting from Japanese expertise in preserving the environment.
