Bahraini-French military cooperation discussed

Paris, Feb. 18 (BNA): Royal Guard Special Force Commander Major Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa met with Director of the French Army International Cooperation Department Gen. Dov Fritsch. The meeting took place during Major Shaikh Khalid's visit to Paris to attend a joint training exercise between Bahrain's Royal Guard Special Force and the French Special Forces. Many topics of common interest were discussed at the meeting. Major Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa stressed the importance of such meetings and their role in developing relations between the two countries. He voiced keenness to achieve a sustainable partnership between Bahrain's Royal Guard Special Force and the French Army so as to promote mutual cooperation. He stressed the importance of cooperation in military training in order to boost competence and combat experience of the Royal Guard Special Force personnel. Major Shaikh Khalid expressed appreciation to Gen. Dov Fritsch for his efforts in promoting cooperation and exchange of experiences to further foster partnership between the two countries and enhance bilateral relations to achieve common goals in military training. At the end of the meeting, His Highness exchanged commemorative medals with Gen. Dov Fritsch. For his part, Gen. Dov Fritsch expressed thanks and appreciation to HH Major Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, praising His Highness's role in opening new horizons for joint cooperation with France in the military field, which enhances Bahraini-French relations in this area and contributes to strengthening close ties between the two countries.
