US Senate delegation visits Ombudsman Office

Manama, Feb. 20 (BNA): A United States Senate delegation today paid a visit to the Ombudsman Office. Ombudsman Secretary-General Nawaf Al-Moawda received the delegation and presented a brief on the Ombudsman's role in enhancing the respect for human rights and commitment to policing professional standards based on justice and the rule of law. He gave an overview of the responsibilities of the Prisoners and Detainees Rights Commission, the Ombudsman's inspection schedule to Reformation and Rehabilitation centers, as well as its work mechanisms and international cooperation and training programmes.
