Premier hails role of GCC legislative councils

Manama, Feb. 20 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa lauded strong fraternal relations between Bahrain and Kuwaiti and growing bilateral cooperation in various fields. He also praised Kuwait's unwavering support to Bahrain, stressing that those honourable stances will always remain a source of pride for every Bahraini. HRH the Prime Minister was speaking as he received at Gudaibiya Palace today Speaker of Kuwait's National Assembly Marzouq Al-Ghanim and his accompanying parliamentary delegation, in the presence of Representatives Council Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al Mulla. HRH the Premier welcomed the Kuwaiti parliamentary delegation, stressing the importance of the visit in further bolstering bilateral fraternal relations and cooperation to achieve common aspirations. He hailed the efforts of Kuwaiti Amir Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah to promote the GCC and Arab union and solidarity. He also affirmed the need for more understanding to maintain security and stability of the GCC countries and ward off challenges. HRH the Prime Minister underscored the role of the GCC legislative councils in achieving the aspirations of the GCC peoples and catering to present and future needs. He asserted the importance of fostering GCC cooperation to press ahead with the development efforts and boost capabilities to withstand political, security and economic challenges. The Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker thanked HRH the Prime Minister for his keenness to enhance bilateral relations, affirming respect and appreciation of the Kuwaiti people to him and his wise visions. He lauded HRH the Premier's efforts to foster GCC work based on his wealth of experience in analyzing regional and international changes. He also emphasized HRH the Prime Minister's support to GCC cooperation which, he said, serves as an incentive to exert more efforts to achieve integration.
