Bahrain's quantum media leap hailed

Manama, Feb. 27 (BNA): The parliamentary National Bloc hailed the quantum leap in national media and its responsible role in protecting national security, boosting national unity and backing political, economic and social development brought about in the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The National Bloc praised the national media vision of Information Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi to upgrade the sector while relying on national competencies. It pointed out the numerous achievements made including a Bahrainisation rate of 97%, promoting responsible media freedom, modernization of the media infrastructure and setting up new projects like the National Communication Centre (NCC).
The National Bloc lauded the new identity of Bahrain TV which was inaugurated by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, pointing out its role in fostering national unity and tackling issues of interest to citizens. It also hailed creative ideas aimed at further developing the media sector and boosting its competitiveness and ability to influence the public opinion. It reiterated keenness of the Representatives Council to support the national media to serve the public interest, describing it as a key partner in the democratic and comprehensive development process.
The National Bloc underlined the parliamentary keenness to boost cooperation with the executive branch to develop the press and media legislations. It hailed the Bahraini pioneering initiatives on the GCC and Arab media scenes, praising the national sense of the Information Minister and his projects to boost the role of the media in protecting regional and international peace and security.
The National Bloc consists of MPs Abdulrahman Bumjid, Ali Bu Farsen, Ahmed Qarata, Ibrahim Al-Hammadi, Mohammed Al-Ahmed and Mohammed Al-Jowder.
