Premier, Qatari Amir stress solid bilateral relations

Doha, Feb. 28 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa today held a meeting with the Qatari Amir, HH Shaikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at the Amiri Diwan.
Held as part of HRH the Prime Minister's official visit to the State of Qatar, the meeting reviewed the fraternal bilateral relations and ways to bolster them in a way that broadens areas of joint cooperation and meets the aspirations of the two brotherly countries.
The Prime Minister conveyed greetings from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to the Qatari Amir, HH Shaikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and his wishes of further progress and prosperity to the State of Qatar.
The Qatari Amir welcomed HRH the Prime Minister, and affirmed the importance of his visit in consolidating the Premier's efforts to strengthen bilateral relations.
In this regard, HRH Premier stressed that his visit to the State of Qatar embodies the depth of the long-standing bilateral relations, and strengthens the already solid brotherly joint cooperation.
The visit consolidates conformity of stances and keenness on increasing coordination amid the current situation in the region, and re-affirms the shared desire to enhance consultation and coordination vis-à-vis issues of common interest, the Premier said.
HRH Premier and HH the Amir of Qatar agreed on the importance of accelerating the pace of cooperation and coordination between the two countries in various fields, stressing that the way is paved for broadening bilateral cooperation, given the distinguished solid relations between the two countries.
HRH the Prime Minister expressed thanks and appreciation to the Qatari Amir for the gracious welcome and hospitality accorded to him and his accompanying delegation, which, he said reflects the advanced ties binding the two brotherly countries.
HRH Premier and the Amir of Qatar also reviewed the latest regional and global developments.
In this context, the Prime Minister stressed the need to develop methods of cooperation and coordination among countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) so that they become more capable of facing the global security and economic challenges.
He also emphasised that complementarity among GCC states has become a necessity, now more than ever, noting that Bahrain is aware of that and is keen to establish an exemplary cooperation at the bilateral and international levels to achieve the best for the region and its peoples.
Then, the Qatari Amir hosted, in honour of HRH the Prime Minister, a grand lunch banquet.
HH Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Thani, the Deputy Amir of Qatar, HH Shaikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Personal Representative of the Qatari Amir, the Qatari Prime Minister and senior Qatari officials attended the luncheon.
