HRH Premier visits Souq Waqif in Qatar

Qatar, Feb. 28(BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa visited Souq Waqif on the sidelines of his current visit to the State of Qatar. HRH the Premier toured the souq and saw the facilities which blend traditional and modern architectural features that attract tourists. The Premier stressed the importance of the iconic souq which reflects landmark development strides, led by the Amir of Qatar His Highness Shaikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. He described Souq Waqif as a historic and tourism milestone and a model of optimising heritage to serve the tourism industry. "The Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Qatar share a keen interest in valuing heritage as a catalyst to boost tourism", HRH the Premier said.
