Tra Vinh exports 1,500 tonnes of rice to Philippines
Tra Vinh (VNA) - The Tra Vinh Food Company in the southern province of Tra Vinh
has shipped 1,500 tonnes of rice to the Philippines , raising its total rice
exports this year to 10,500 tonnes, almost 7,000 tonnes more than the same period
last year.
This year, the company plans to export 25,000 tonnes of rice and supply the
domestic market with 130,000 tonnes.
The company has instructed its two export rice processors in Cang Long and Cau Ke
districts to purchase seasonal (autumn-winter and winter-spring) rice from farmers
in order to ensure that they have sufficient rice for export in February to
fulfill their contractual obligations.-Enditem
