Bahrain-US cooperation, coordination stressed

Manama, Mar. 15 (BNA): Interior Minister, Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa received here today US Acting Assistant Secretary of State for the Near East Affairs Bureau, Stuart E. Jones and his accompanying delegation. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Interior Minister, Lieutenant-General Adel bin Khalifa Al Fadel, Chief of Public Security, Major-General Tariq Al Hassan and US Ambassador to Bahrain, William Roebuck. The Interior Minister welcomed the US officials for the visit aimed at reinforcing the strong ties between Bahrain and the United States, highlighting the importance of cooperation and coordination between the two friendly countries, especially in security. Relations between the two countries were discussed, as well as means to develop security cooperation. The meeting was also attended by the Director of Joint Counterterrorism Centre at the Interior Ministry.
