Minister: Bahraini society united, cohesive

Manama, Mar. 15 (BNA): Interior Minister, Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa received here today the Middle East and Gulf Work Team at the European Union Council, in the presence of Deputy Interior Minister, Lieutenant-General Adel bin Khalifa Al Fadel and the Assistant Undersecretary of Legal Affairs, Major-General Mohammed Bu Hamood. The Interior Minister welcomed the EU delegation, highlighting that the visit is part of interaction efforts to exchange views. He praised the ties between Bahrain and EU. He said that the Bahraini society is united, open and continues to reinforce patriotism within the state of law and institutions, adding that the Interior Ministry is dedicated to promoting development, and facing security challenges. The delegation was briefed about the efforts of the Interior Ministry to protect the security, public order and safety. The briefing also featured a presentation of samples of the confiscated weapons and equipment that were used in terrorism, violence and vandalism. The meeting was also attended by the Director of Joint Counterterrorism Centre at the Interior Ministry.
