AFC president congratulates new CAF counterpart

Manama, Mar. 17 (BNA): The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa sent a congratulatory letter to new Confederation of African Football (CAF) President Ahmad Ahmad after he was elected at elections held in Addis Ababa on Thursday. Shaikh Salman said Ahmad Ahmad's election proved the confidence of the African football community in his abilities. "I am confident that your depth of knowledge, expertise and leadership will contribute significantly to the progress of football development in your Confederation," Shaikh Salman said. He added that he was looking forward to working closely with the new CAF chief to create a new and exciting future for FIFA, and to further strengthen the ties and partnerships that exist between the two Confederations
