Interior Minister marks Community Partnership Day

Manama, Mar. 17 (BNA): Interior Minister, Let-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa delivered the following speech to mark the Community Partnership Day that is celebrated on March 18: "March 18 is the 11th anniversary of the Community Partnership Day that represents the strong ties between policemen and the public out of the national importance of cooperation to protect security and stability and law enforcement. After more than a decade of the launching of the day, we can say that the community partnership concept is being further reinforced and represents a vivid example of patriotism out of the loyalty values to the nation under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Bahrain has been pioneer in this field, striving to develop community security services and the adoption of new police thought in accordance to the requirements of society, out of the dedication of the police management to meet the future needs. Relations between policemen and all segments in society have been reinforced, as the presence of security personnel brings the sense of comfort and reflects the cooperation spirit with citizens to provide them with their requirements. This reinforces the respect of law and order. The community partnership concept has been reinforced to be a real practice, out of the principal that security is the key for development and the right and responsibility of all. This partnership has been taken as a positive approach, including dedication to show cooperation with policemen for law enforcement and response to instructions that could protect the nation and facilitate services, as well as the one national stance to reject terrorism, targeting of innocent people and policemen and support of all security steps that could protect national security and stability. Policemen have been praised and appreciated in Majlises, newspapers and social media. On this national occasion, I express thanks and appreciation for all who have supported and activated this partnership, government organisations and NGOs, as well as the efforts of governors as part of the Interior Ministry to promote community partnership and positive interaction with the residents to learn about their needs, in terms of security protection or development programmes. The role of policemen to deepen the partnership through discipline in all situations in accordance to the law is highly appreciated. The appreciation is also extended to the media for the efforts to support community partnership. May God protect Bahrain and its security under the leadership of HM the King." (MOI)
