Social media instigator arrested

Manama, Apr. 2 (BNA): The General Director of Anti-corruption and Economic and Electronic Security General Directorate said that an individual who posted illegal content and promoted instigative messages on social media has been identified and arrested. The suspect called for staging illegal demonstrations under the claim of "The stance of the residents of Riffa against Traffic Law." Such unlicensed public gatherings, demonstrations and rallies are illegal and incriminated under Article 13 of Law 32/2006 that amended provisions of Law Decree 18/1973. The suspect was arrested at his home in 'Bani Jamrah' village and the legally-prescribed action will be taken to refer him to the Public Prosecution, the General Director said. He cautioned the public against responding to such provocative calls that are in breach of the law.
