HM King issues Royal Order 24/2017

Manama, Apr. 23 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has issued a Royal Order 24/ 2017 on the formation of a legislative committee to review the family draft law. Article One states the formation of the Legislative Committee that consists of: 1- Shaikh Abdulhussain bin Khalaf Al Asfoor. 2- Shaikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Mahmoud Al Mahmoud. 3- Shaikh Adnan bin Abdullah Al Qattan. 4- Shaikh Nasser bin Ahmed Al Asfoor. 5- Shaikh Rashid bin Hassan Al Buainain. 6- Shaikh Dr. Rashid bin Mohammed Al Hajri. 7- Shaikh Dr. Sulaiman bin Mansour Al Sitri. 8- Shaikh Jawad bin Abdullah Abbas Hussain. 9- Shaikh Dr. Abdulrahman Dhurar A Shaer. 10- Shaikh Mohammed Tahir bin Sulaiman Al Madani. Article Two stipulates that the committee will hold its meetings at the Headquarters of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs. Article Three specifies that the committee will consider the family draft law, its provisions and to ensure they are in accord with Islamic law. Article Four states that the Legislation and Legal Opinion Commission will undertake the responsibilities of the committee's secretariat. Article Five stipulates that the committee will submit a report to the Royal Court on its findings and recommendations with regard to the draft referred to it, and that the committee's work ends immediately after the issuance the family law in conformity with the constitutional procedures. Article Six specifies that the Royal Order will take effect from the date of its issuance and to be published in the official gazette.
