Nasser bin Hamad confirms support for centres, clubs

Manama, Apr. 30 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, stressed on continuing efforts to develop and improve the sport of self-defense in the Kingdom by providing all support to centres, sports clubs and players in order to enable Bahrainis to achieve best results in regional and international sports events.
This came on the sidelines of His Highness's visit to the Redha Centre for martial arts in Barbar village in the presence of the Secretary General of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, Abdulrahman Askar.
HH Shaikh Nasser was received by the Director of the Centre Reda Monfredi, who briefed HH on the combat games that are being trained in the centre, including Thai boxing and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. And then he met with all the trainees at the centre and gave them a welcoming speech before witnessing some of the exercises of the players in the aforementioned sports.
HH Shaikh Nasser praised the role of the Reda Centre for Self-Defense in spreading and strengthening the combat games in the Bahraini society by attracting youth and developing their abilities and potential through engaging them in unique training programmes. He also expressed his thanks and appreciation to Monfredi for his efforts in developing and upgrading the combat games in the Kingdom.
Monfredi expressed his thanks and appreciation to HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his keenness and interest to develop the sport of self-defense in the Kingdom through continuous follow-up and support to all centres and players.
