Energy Minister to participate in London Energy Conference

Abu Dhabi, February 7, 2009 (WAM) - Issues on energy and oil industry in the Gulf region, particularly oil industry policies of Saudi Arabia, Iran and Iraq, regarding their oil output expansion plans to supply sufficient crude oil on the world market and their ability to attract foreign investment will be the major issues of discussions at the Middle East and North Africa Energy Conference, to be organised on Monday in London by the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House), it was disclosed by oil sources in Abu Dhabi.

Energy Minister, Mohamed bin Dha'en Al Hameli and OPEC Secretary General, Abdullah Al-Badri, will participate in the conference as main speakers to highlight policies of Gulf countries and OPEC members in supplying the oil market with its requirement of the commodity and how these policies have been affected by the global economic crisis.

The two-day conference, which ends on February 10, will also discuss, among other issues, matters related to the energy industry at the regional and international levels.
