Indonesia's Street Bukit Bintang Fiesta Features New Cuisine, Culture
KUALA LUMPUR, May 13 (Bernama) -- New authentic cuisine and culture are among the attractions in the second Indonesia Street Bukit Bintang Fiesta which will be held from May 18 to 21 at the Pavilion Mall here.
Indonesian Tourism Ministry’s director of promotions for Southeast Asia, Rizki Handayani said the ministry would feature artistes from Southern Sumatera, Eastern Java and dancers from different districts in Indonesia during the event.
"Indonesia and Malaysia have known each for a very long time and both share a lot of similarities in terms of food and culture. However, I must say there are still a lot for us to learn about each other,” she said during a press conference here Friday.
She expects more than 20,000 visitors during the event.
The event themed, ‘Explore Exotic Indonesia’, will see Indonesian cultural performances such as dance, music, carnival show, deejay, batik and weaving workshop, fashion show from renowned Indonesian designers and other interactive programmes such as henna, face painting as well as quizzes.
Meanwhile, Indonesia’s Acting Ambassador to Malaysia, Andreano Erwin hoped to achieve the target of 1.7 million Malaysian tourists visiting Indonesia this year.
