10 Malaysian SMEs Bag US$17.2 Mln Potential Sales From Paris Air Show - Ministry

KUALA LUMPUR, June 24 (Bernama) -- Ten Malaysian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) have bagged US$17.2 million (US$1 = RM4.29) worth of potential sales at the International Paris Air Show. In a statement from Paris on Friday, Malaysia's Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) said, the SMEs were the participants in the Entry-Point Project - 8 (EPP 8): Developing SMEs in the Global Aerospace Manufacturing Industry Programme under SME Corp Malaysia. "These companies are identified to be further developed as part of the government’s initiative to expand the local aerospace supply chain," it said. MITI said the government would continue to promote the aerospace eco-system to accelerate local supply chain development, as well as to bring in cutting-edge technology to the country. "This is in line with Malaysia’s Industry 4.0 initiative to enhance Malaysia’s competitiveness at the global arena. "The export promotion of aerospace services will remain an important activity to promote Malaysia as the regional aerospace hub in South-East Asia," it said. The air show, from June 19-25, 2017, aims to bring the aerospace players worldwide together to network, exhibit and converge new product ideas, knowledge transfer and training capabilities. -- BERNAMA
