ERC distributes rescue aid to Eastern Ad Dis in Hadhramaut, Yemen

HADHRAMAUT, 27th July, 2017 (WAM) -- The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, has distributed food baskets to the people of Eastern Ad Dis in the eastern part of the Governorate of Hadhramaut yesterday, which benefitted low-income families and individuals with disabilities. The ERC’s distribution of rescue aid is implemented under the framework supporting vulnerable people in Yemen, with the aim of reducing the impact of the severe local economic conditions that resulted from the Houthis-led coup. Mohammed Al Muhairi, Head of the ERC team, stressed that their humanitarian projects in Hadhramaut which are fully supported by the UAE and implemented by the ERC, the philanthropic arm of the UAE, cover many liberated regions in Yemen. Al Muhairi praised the cooperation of local authorities in the governorate, which assisted the delivery of aid to local people. Abdullah Al Tamimi, Director-General of Eastern Ad Dis, praised the efforts of the ERC in Hadhramaut and expressed his gratitude to the UAE government and people for supporting his country in overcoming their difficult conditions. The UAE will continue providing humanitarian assistance to the liberated regions of Yemen, through the ERC, since the start of the rebuilding process after the decisive military operation to restore legitimacy and end the coup.
