BNM Issues Commemorative Coins in Conjunction with SEA Games, ASEAN Para Games

BNM ISSUES COMMEMORATIVE COINS IN CONJUNCTION WITH SEA GAMES, ASEAN PARA GAMES KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 26 (Bernama) -- Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), the central bank of Malaysia, has issued commemorative coins in conjunction with the 29th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games and the 9th ASEAN Para Games. In a statement, BNM said the commemorative coins issued on Aug 16, consisted of a proof coloured silver coin, a Nordic Gold Brilliant Uncirculated coin and a set of two of these coins. The central bank said based on public feedback and to provide a fair opportunity for the public to buy those limited edition coins, there would be a purchase limit – a set of two, a silver coin and three Nordic Gold coins per person. “To improve buying convenience, the public can place their orders via email to commorder@bnm.gov.my or via order forms available at BNM’s Museum and Art Gallery and the Bank’s offices in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching and Kuala Terengganu,” it said. Orders can be placed from Aug 29, 2017 to 1.00 pm on Sept 5, 2017. “In the event of oversubscription, balloting will take place. Results will be announced on Sept 8, 2017 at www.bnm.gov.my and at BNM’s Museum and Art Gallery and the bank’s offices nationwide,” said BNM. Successful buyers would be required to pay and collect their coins from Sept 8-12, 2017 at BNM’s Museum and Art Gallery, daily, including on weekends and public holidays, and at the bank’s offices in Penang, Johor Bahru, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching and Kuala Terengganu (normal work days).
