Brazilian Foreign Minister Calls on PM Najib

PUTRAJAYA, Sept 6 (Bernama) -- Brazilian Foreign Affairs Minister Aloysio Nunes (left) Wednesday called on Prime Minister Najib Razak (right) at Perdana Putra here. Nunes, who was accompanied by Brazil's Ambassador to Malaysia Carlos Martins Ceglia for the meeting with Najib, arrived Tuesday for a three-day working visit to Malaysia. Wisma Putra (Foreign Ministry), in a statement Tuesday, said Malaysia and Brazil were expected to explore potential areas in bilateral cooperation and exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual concern during Nunes' visit. It said Malaysia-Brazil relations, established in 1959, remained strong and vibrant in numerous areas, including trade and investment, education, security, defence and people-to-people relations. Last year, total trade between the two countries amounted to US$2.73 billion (RM11.63 billion) compared to US$2.52 billion (RM10.7 billion) in 2015.(photoBERNAMA) -- BERNAMA
