Malaysia Beat Singapore 3-1 in Second AFF U-18 Match

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 6 (Bernama) – Malaysia continued their winning momentum at the 2017 ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Under-18 (U-18) Youth Championship with a 3-1 victory over Singapore in their second group A match Wednesday. Both teams were locked in a goalless draw in the first half at Aung San Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar before Zafuan Azeman opened the score in the 58th minute, according to the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) official Facebook site. The squad under Bojan Hodak continued the hunt via Ammar Akhmall Alias in the 69th minute and Muhammad Hadi Fayyadh Abdul Razak in the 89th minute before Singapore slotted their solitary goal via Katz Saul Ellison one minute later. In the opening match, Malaysia blasted Laos 4-1 at the same venue two days ago. Malaysia are down to meet Timor Leste on Friday and Cambodia on Sunday before completing their group match against Thailand on Sept 12. Only top two teams will advance to the semi-finals on Sept 15 while the final and third placing decider is scheduled on Sept 17. -- BERNAMA
