Rakuyo-Za Malaysia Tour 2017 In Ipoh To Celebrate Malaysia-Japan Relationship
IPOH (Perak, Malaysia), Sept 11 (Bernama) -- A Japanese traditional music concert titled Rakuyo-Za Malaysia Tour 2017 will be held here on Sept 23 in conjunction with the 60th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Malaysia.
The concert is organised by the Consulate General of Japan in Penang with collaboration from the Perak state government; Perak Malaysian-Japanese Friendship Society and The Japan Club of Ipoh.
Consul General of Japan in Malaysia's northern state, Penang Kiyoshi Itoi said the concert will be held at State Secretariat Banquet Hall here at 8.30pm and admission will be free.
According to Itoi Rakuyo-Za the concert would help to promote the cultural exchange between Japan and Malaysia as well as encourage mutual understanding and strengthening friendly relations between both nations.
"I would like to thank Chief Minister Dr Zambry Abd Kadir for his support in this event, in which we feel very glad to have the privilege to work together and I hope this collaboration will help to foster a closer relationship between the two countries," he told reporters at a press conference, here Sunday.
Itoi said Rakuyo-za is a Japanese traditional music ensemble performance group from Japan formed by Yusuke Kemmochi who is a profesional Shamisen player from Nagoya with the accompanying professional Wadaiko player, Shakuchahi player and traditional dancer.
Kiyoshi said the target number of the audience is estimated to be 1,000 people.
"We want Malaysians to know that Japanese people truly cherish the friendship and bilateral relationship and I can assure you that it will be a memorable night with full of great entertainment, where you will witness the stunning skills of the Japanese performers," he said.
