QDB Holds Workshop on Exporting to Algeria
Doha, September 19 (QNA) - Qatar Development Bank (QDB), in cooperation with KPMG, a financial advisory firm, held an "Export to Algeria" workshop aimed at introducing Qatari exporters to export procedures to this country.
The workshop seeks to aware Qatari exporters to the most important requirements of access to the Algerian market such as, market size, average prices, competitive methods, business culture, market needs, regulatory standards and export procedures and laws, to enter goods for the Algerian market.
Qatar Development Bank said in a statement Tuesday that the workshop was organized after a study prepared by "Tasdeer" program on the Algerian market in order to evaluate the commercial opportunities of Qatari exporters' products to that market. The study's feedback was discussed with the participants in the workshop to get a closer look at the needs of the Algerian market and their access requirements, with a detailed presentation of each product.
The Executive Director of Export Development and Promotion at the Bank Hassan Khalifa Al Mansouri said that the workshop marks the beginning of a new chapter in Qatar's commercial diplomacy worldwide, as QDB is seeking to forge alliance with new trading partners in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to enhance the national economy's capabilities and to maintain its independence.
He added that the "Export to Algeria" workshop was attended by distinguished experts from KPMG in Qatar, which is specialized in training and consultancy services, in order to provide Qatari exporters with the necessary skills and experiences to enter into successful deals and partnerships with their counterparts in Algeria.
He pointed out that QDB will organize a number of coordination meetings in Algeria from November 7 to 8 as part of a series of initiatives that support Qatari exporters to establish business relations with Algeria.
QDB's 'Tasdeer' program participated in the 20th edition of the International Exhibition of Building, Construction and Public Works (Batimatic), held in Algeria from April 23 to 27, as part of its efforts to open new markets to Qatari companies. 22 companies participated in a large pavilion held by the Bank at the exhibition, which allowed Qatari exporters to exchange information and expertise with industry professionals, conclude deals and form partnerships.
Through 'Tasdeer' program, QDB is enhancing the country's export presence on a large scale in the foreign markets. The program also provides many services to develop the potential of these export companies, through participation in activities and events around the world, such as international exhibitions, joint programs, development and promotion of exports, training workshops, as well as the publication of specialized manuals and more.
Tasdeer also provides export financing solutions and insurance to the Qatari exporters against the risks of loss of funds resulting from forward selling and exportation. It also provides the necessary advice to exporting companies and the auxiliary work of the export sector in order to improve its export efficiency. (QNA)
