Strong Earthquake Hits Mexico

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 20 (Bernama) – A strong earthquake measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale struck Central Mexico at 2.14 this morning. The Malaysian Meteorological Department said in a statement Wednesday that the quake, had its epicentre located 91 kilometers (km) south-east of Mexico City and 15,130 km north-east of Sandakan, in the state of Sabah. However, the statement said that the quake did not bring any threat of tsunami to Malaysia. --BERNAMA
