Qatargas Achieves Premier Safety Milestone

Doha, October 02 (QNA) - Qatargas recently achieved an exceptional safety milestone with the completion of 50 million man-hours without a lost time injury. Commenting on the occasion, Qatargas Chief Executive Officer Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al-Thani said "This milestone demonstrates Qatargas' ability to operate our LNG assets, refineries, and terminal loading facility safely, efficiently and reliably," adding" every Qatargas employee and contractor has made this achievement possible by executing their duties safely and in accordance with Qatargas procedures and guidelines." A statement issued by Qatargas Monday said that this premier achievement is a reflection of Qatargas' rigorous and systematic approach to identifying and eliminating workplace risk. It added that at Qatargas, the World's Premier LNG Company, "world-class safety standards govern every aspect of how we conduct our business. Every day, Qatargas Management reiterate the importance of safe working practices, and work tirelessly to embed a safety mindset throughout the company.' This achievement also underscores Qatargas' commitment to an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture, and demonstrates that adherence to industry-leading safety standards result in world-class safety milestones, the statement said. Qatargas, established in 1984, pioneered the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) industry in Qatar and today is the largest producer of LNG in the world with an annual production capacity of 42 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).
