Qatar Chamber Launches External Media Campaign for Made in China Exhibition
Doha, October 16 (QNA) - Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QC) launched an external media campaign for the 'Made in China' exhibition, during a press conference in the Chinese city of Dalian attended by dozens of media outlets and more than 160 Chinese companies looking to enter the Qatari market from the exhibition portal.
A statement issued by Qatar Chamber Monday revealed that the exhibition organized by the Qatar Chamber next month is expected to witness the participation of more than 100 Chinese companies representing various economic and trade sectors in the People's Republic of China, and will last for four days from November 16 to 19.
QC's Assistant Director-General for Governmental and International Relations Ali Bu Sherbak Al Mansouri said that this year's edition of the "Made in China" exhibition comes after the great success of the exhibition in the two previous sessions, expecting a wider participation this year, and the exhibition will witness a greater diversity in the productive sectors represented by the Chinese companies involved.
Al Mansouri said that holding the exhibition for the third year in a row reflects the robustness and strength of Qatari-Chinese relations, adding that the trade relations between the two sides have witnessed a great development in recent years.
QC's Assistant Director-General for Governmental and International Relations added saying: 'Qatar, China relations witnessed great progress over recent years. China is a very key trade partner to Qatar. Trade exchange hit last year USD 5.5bn including USD 4bn Qatari exports to China and China is Qatars fourth trade partner, while Qatar is Chinas second-largest supplier of LNG.'
Al Mansouri pointed out that the opportunity is there for Chinese companies to supply goods to the Qatari market, especially the building and construction materials, explaining that all the construction work in the projects related to the 2022 World Cup is proceeding rapidly according to the schedules. He noted that the exhibition is an important platform for Chinese companies to showcase their industries, products and latest technological innovations, and to introduce the Qatari business community to these products. He added that the exhibition also allows Chinese companies to learn about the Qatari market and opportunities.
QC's Assistant Director-General expressed his hope that the exhibition would help Chinese exhibitors inform Qatari business community of their industries and products and to end in transactions and agreements among Qatari and Chinses companies, to establish joint projects serving the economy of the two countries.
Al Mansouri pointed out that this year exhibition comes concurrently with the Gulf crisis and the unjust siege imposed by neighboring countries on the State of Qatar whose economy is not affected by this siege, affirming Qatar's success in dealing with these unfair measures very quickly and directly shifted to alternative sources. Hamad Port was inaugurated and a direct marine route was launched with Chinas Shanghai port, which effectively contributed to continuing the flow of Chinese imports to Qatar without the need to pass across siege countries, he said.
China's city of Dalian is home to many important industries, especially in the food, building materials, and cars spare parts sectors. (QNA)
