More than 200,000 people enter Sanam Luang on royal cremation day
BANGKOK, Oct 30 (TNA) – The number of people, passing nine screening points around Sanam Luang ceremonial ground on the Royal Cremation Day of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej was recorded at 227,297 people, said deputy national police commissioner Pol General Dejnarong Sutticharnbancha.
The figure was revealed after the five-day cremation ceremonies ended on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the joint administration centre for the royal cremation of His Majesty King Bhumibol on Monday convened the final meeting before handing over its responsibility in overseeing Sanam Luang and surrounding area to the Peace and Order Maintaining Command for maintaining order around the Grand Palace.
The latter will facilitate public members to visit the royal crematorium and exhibitions at structures around the crematorium from Nov 2-30.
The meeting, presided over by Deputy Prime Minister/Defence Minister, Prawit Wongsuwon, was also attended by the Armed Forces chief, National Police Chief and Director General of the Public Relations Department.
The meeting also discussed problems, which will be used as a lesson in joint operations among many agencies. (TNA)
