Heavy fog delays flights in Songkhla

SONGKHLA, Nov 7 (TNA) – Heavy fog blanketed the southern province of Songkhla, leading to morning flight delays. Morning fog affected air travel and caused one–hour delay of two flights from Hat Yai to Bangkok and Chiang Rai as the planes could not take off in poor weather condition. A Nok Air flight from Bangkok could not land at Hat Yai airport as scheduled as the sky over the Hat Yai city was blanketed with thick fog. It took about an hour for the airplane for safe landing. Meanwhile, local authorities in the southern province of Surat Thani warned residents in coastal areas and at foot of mountains to brace for heavy rain and possible flash flood from a depression, coming ashore today. They are alerted to be ready for evacuation and to move their belongings to higher ground. Small boats are ordered to stay ashore for safety. (TNA)
