PM to attend APEC summits in Vietnam on Nov 10-11
BANGKOK, Nov 8 (TNA) -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha will attend the 25th APEC Economic Leaders Meeting (AELM) in Vietnam on Nov 10-11 to propose joint efforts to empower SMEs and sustainable agriculture.
Assistant government spokesman Athisit Chaiyanuwat told the press that the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meetings were set in Danang and participants would approve a declaration of the 25th AELM and a joint communique of the 29th APEC Ministerial Meeting (AMM). Participants would not sign any document to announce APEC cooperation.
Col Athisit said the AELM declaration would focus on support for growth, innovations, and inclusive and sustainable employment; efforts for regional economic groupings; promotion for the capabilities and innovation of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs); cooperation on food security and sustainable agriculture to cope with climate changes; and promotion for multi-dimensional cooperation.
The assistant government spokesman said the AMM joint communique would address regional economic integration, support for sustainable and inclusive growth and innovation, and the enhancement of SMEs’ competitiveness. (TNA)
