Eastern Cowboys project will be launched on Nov 24
BANGKOK, Nov 9 (TNA) -- The agriculture minister will kick off the Koban Burapha (Eastern Cowboys) cattle-raising project in Sa Kaeo province on Nov 24.
Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Chatchai Sarikulya said that the Koban Burapha project made good progress as 2,000 farmers were trained, received interest-free loans to build stalls and were growing the plants that were animal feeds on 10,000 rai of land.
Besides, cattle underwent checkups in Wattana Nakhon district of Sa Kaeo before being delivered to the farmers who participated in the project to shift from growing rice to raising cattle.
Gen Chatchai would officially launch the Koban Burapha project at Sab Nok Kaeo Witthaya School in Sa Kaeo province on Nov 24.
The agriculture and cooperatives minister also said that his ministry would offer rice seeds worth 128 million baht to farmers whose 14.1 million rai of paddy fields were damaged by floods.
The ministry also planned to release 20.2 million fish worth 2.2 million baht in flooded fields in October next year.
Gen Chatchai also said that flooding in the Chao Phraya river basin would disappear late this month. (TNA)
