Thai economy continues growing: Thai Chamber of Commerce
SURAT THANI, Nov 18 (TNA) -- Thailand’s economy is expected to continue recovering while financial technology or FinTech will play a more significant role in the future, said Kalin Sarasin, chief of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Trade, on Saturday.
Speaking during the 35th seminar of the country’s chambers of commerce, themed "Executing Trade & Services 4.0: ThaiTay with Inclusive Growth,” held in the southern province of Surat Thani, Mr Kalin said the Thai Chamber of Commerce (TCC) is confident that domestic consumption would continue improving from now due to several positive factors.
These factors are the government’s monthly financial assistance to the poor through welfare and an ongoing tax intensive programme on shopping to help the country while investment, export and tourism are growing, he said.
FinTech is expected to play more role in future, said Mr Kalin, adding that these roles include spending via QR Code.
The private sector and the community people will have to adjust themselves by building innovation and create a higher added value in which several countries have accomplished and abled to reduce disparity in their countries, he said.
Mr Kalin said the TCC will cooperate with several agencies in making private sector and the community to realise and implement the idea. (TNA)
