NATIONAL TEAM BECOMES WORLD MEMORY CHAMPION

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolia’s national team showed an absolute triumph in the World Memory Championship 2017 in Jakarta, Indonesia, grabbing 57 out of 90 medals in total. At the championship held on December 1-3, more than 130 high-rated athletes from 21 countries competed in 10 principles of sight and hearing memory contests over three days. As a result, Mongolia’s team of 20 athletes won 21 gold, 21 silver and 15 bronze medals, scoring 22531 in total.
Moreover, international grandmaster N. Munkhshur (random images, 30 mins binary and 30 mins cards) and international grandmaster V. Yanjaa (names and faces, and first-ever human catalogue) broke world records in adult category, whilst international master E. Lkhagvadulam set world records in 5 mins binary and 10 mins cards in junior category. Overall, they re-set world records in 7 competitions.
With overall scores, Alex Mullen (USA) became the world champion, followed by runner-up M. Munkhshur and third place winner V. Yanjaa.
In junior category, E. Lkhagvadulam reigned the Junior World Memory Champion, followed by runner-up M. Uyanga and third place winner B. Namuun.
In kids category, B. Ariunbileg became Kids World Memory Champion and Sh.Naranbat and T. Ujin won the 2nd and 3rd places respectively.
International grandmaster, junior world memory champion and Asian memory champion N. Munkhsur received a ‘AsiaTop Athlete-2017’ cup.
