Dr Prasert maintains Thailand’s top stock investor
BANGKOK, Dec 9 (TNA) -- Dr Prasert Prasarttong-Osoth, a major shareholder of Bangkok Dusit Medical Services Public Co, Ltd, remains Thailand’s wealthiest individual stock investor for the fifth consecutive year this year, possessing listed shares worth nearly 64 billion baht, according to Money & Banking Magazine.
The annual survey, jointly conducted by the magazine and Chulalongkorn University’ Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy, said although Dr Prasert's wealth declined about 3.7 billion baht, or 5.53 per cent, in 2017 he remains champion of stockholding in Thailand.
Ranked second was Pete Bodharamik, CEO of listed telecom firm Jasmine International, who jumped from seventh rank last year. His stock investment was valued about 44 billion baht, up 121.67 per cent.
Somphote Ahunai, executive chairman of Energy Absolute Pcl, who ranked sixth richest stock investor in 2559, was ranked third this year with shareholding valued approximately 33 billion baht, an increase of 48.5 per cent.
Thongma Vijitpongpun, CEO of Pruksa Real Estate Pcl, slipped from the third rank last year to the fourth place, with stock portfolio worth 31 billion baht, up 6 per cent.
Ranked fifth was Niti Osathanugrah, fell from fourth place in 2559, with stock investment holding worth about 29 billion baht, up 6.45 per cent.
In sixth place was Keeree Kanjanapas chairman of BTS Group Holdings Pcl, fell from second ranked last year, with stockholding valued nearly 29 billion baht, down 1.56 per cent. (TNA)
