PM meets Miss Universe Thailand

BANGKOK, Dec 12 (TNA) -- Miss Universe Thailand 2017 Mareeya Poonlertlarp called on Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha who then invited her join a spokesperson team for his government as her English is excellent and can help promote Thailand’s tourism. Ms Mareeya, a Swedish-Thai beauty pageant, had just returned from the Miss Universe contest in the United States. Gen Prayut said Thai people were proud of Ms Mareeya for finishing as a Top 5 finalist in the Miss Universe pageant. He also praised that Ms Mareeya walked on the pageant stage more beautifully than other contestants. The prime minister asked Ms Universe Thailand to promote Thai cultures, be a good role model and take good care of her family. Ms Mareeya said that after finishing her duty as the Miss Universe Thailand, she would join campaigns against premature pregnancy. Gen Prayut also said that Ms Mareeya was excellent at English and he would like her to work for the government spokespersons’ team. She could help read English-language articles and to help promote Thai tourism, he said. Ms Mareeya replied she could accept the invitation. (TNA)
