Call centre gang busted in Songkhla

SONGKHLA, Dec 14 (TNA) - The police and soldiers, in joint operation, arrested 23 Chinese nationals for allegedly involved in a call centre scam network during their joint operation in Songkhla’s Sadao district last night. Officials raided at rented houses and an apartment in Sadao district, bordering Malaysia and found Chinese nationals suspiciously working on their computers. The police stopped them from trying to destroy evidence by sending information through online network to delete information on their computer screens. More than 30 computers, mobile phones, 39 credit cards, SIM cards, tens of thousands of cash in foreign currencies and some document have been seized for further investigation. According to an initial investigation, they rented houses and rooms yearly for 100,000 baht. Most of the suspects are teenagers and refused to give any information on their work. All of them have been detained at the Sadao police station while the police are checking their immigration documents. The police suspect that they might also involve in online gambling. (TNA)
