Temperature plunges in NE

NAKHON PHANOM, Dec 18 (TNA) – Provincial public health authorities are concerned over dropping temperatures that could affect heath of people in rural areas. In the northeastern province of Nakhon Phanom, the weather station reported that the temperature in the provincial seat dropped to the lowest of this year at 9°C this morning. People are warned to wear proper winter clothes. Many local residents warm themselves by the fire. In Maha Sarakham, the temperature dropped by 5 °C to 11 °C in the provincial seat municipality in the morning. People wear winter clothes and schools have students exercise before class. Director of Maha Sarakham Hospital said epidemiological information reported increasing number of patients with fever, Pneumonia, respiratory diseases in all 13 districts due to changing weather. In the central province of Uthai Thani, the temperature has dropped to 20-22 °C in three districts, connecting the Huay Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary. Health officials warned people to keep themselves warm as the temperature tends to drop further. (TNA)
