Donated winter clothes delivered to the North
BANGKOK, Dec 16 (TNA) – The MCOT Public Company Limited has sent donated winter gear to people, affected by cold spell in the northern province of Chiang Mai.
Assisted by Royal Thai Airforce (RTAF) personnel, MCOT employees carried all winter stuff to fill two RTAF trucks, which left Bangkok for the northern province of Chiang Mai.
The donations were collected from the public members, organizations and agencies from Nov 20 to Dec 15 under the campaign to help people in mountainous areas as they suffer from the cold every year with a shortage of proper winter clothes to wear.
During the one-month donation period, the company received 300 sacks of winter gears. MCOT also donates 800 new blankets and 200 new winter jackets.
Moreover, over 459,000 baht was transferred to the MCOT’s charity bank account.
The money and winter gear will be given to the authorities in Chiang Mai’s Chiang Dao district for distribution to people in need in remote areas on Dec 22-23. (TNA)
