High speed internet for all school as New Year gifts

BANGKOK, Dec 19 (TNA) – The Ministry of Education will provide high speed internet for all schools as the New Year gifts to students and opened boarding schools for poor students in southern border provinces. Payom Chinnawong , Secretary-General of Private Education Commission and the Education Ministry spokesman said the ministry will give high speed internet access for Thai students. Fast internet connection is a tool for their educational opportunities. The ministry goal is to provide the internet speed of 100 Megabytes per second (Mbps) or at the speed, suitable for the size of each school. The schools will spend the infrastructure budget for proper internet network in their locations. The spokesman also said in the 2018 semester, boarding schools will be opened in all districts of the three southern border provinces, Yala, Narathiwat and Pattani to help students, whose families have an income of less than 30,000 baht per year or have registered as low-income earners with authorities for the government’s welfare. Potential schools will be selected for the project and additional buildings will be constructed or existing ones will be upgraded to accommodate the students. (TNA)
