Removal of Royal Crematorium to be finished in mid-March
BANGKOK, Jan 9 (TNA) – The work to dismantle the Royal Crematorium of HM late King Bhumibol Adulyadej at Sanam Luang ceremonial ground will start on Jan 11 and it is expected to be completed in mid-March, said Culture Minister Vira Rojpojchanarat.
Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha will preside over a merit making ceremony at 7.30 am. on Thursday when an alms-giving ceremony will be organized around the royal crematorium. At 9.09 am, a blessing ceremony will be conducted to mark the start of the removal, scheduled on this auspicious day.
Cabinet members will also attend the ceremony.
Parts of the royal crematorium structure and pavilions will be moved to be exhibited at the museum of the Royal Funeral of King Rama IX behind the National Archives in honour of King Bhumibol Adulyadej in Pathum Thani province.
The museum is under construction and will be completed in the next two years, the Culture Minister said. (TNA)
