In the long-term, the government will offer incentives to prospective parents through many agencies such as tax cut, increase of maternity leave period.
The Royal Thai College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and state agencies are considering measures to help married couples with infertility problems access to medical service. The measures are likely to take shape in the next five years.
In Thailand, 99 per cent of baby delivery is performed in hospital. Newborns weight over 2,500 grammes and 80 per cent of babies aged 0-2 years have good development in their growth performance.
