AFEIE 2018, Gateway For Middle East Companies Into Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 15 (Bernama) -- The upcoming Arabic Annual Forum And Exhibition on Investment and Entrepreneurship (AFEIE 2018) will be the gateway for Middle East companies to expand their businesses here, says Malaysia-Middle East Chamber of Commerce and Industries (MyMec). MyMec Chairman Fathulbari Mat Jahya said to date, a total of 50 companies from various sectors in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Oman and Yemen have confirmed their participation for the exhibition. "Our main focus is to attract Middle Eastern companies to expand their businesses here and invest in the country, particularly in the field of property, manufacturing and agriculture. "We will also hold business matching sessions between Middle Eastern and local companies at the event," he told a press conference on the exhibition here Monday. Commenting on investments by Middle Eastern companies in Malaysia, Fathulbari said it had been steadily increasing in recent years and averaged around US$30 billion as at 2015. The inaugural event, scheduled to be held on Jan 23-24 at JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur, is organised by Arabi Media Group Sdn Bhd and Findhome Sdn Bhd, in partnership with MyMec. --BERNAMA
