National dairy festival to be held in Saraburi

BANGKOK, Jan 19 (TNA) –The National Dairy Farming Festival will be held in Saraburi in remembrance of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s benevolence and contributions to the development of dairy farming in Thailand. The event will be organized by the Dairy Farming Promotion Organization of Thailand (DPO) at Muak Lek district from Jan 30 to Feb 5. The Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Luck Wajananawat said Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will preside over the opening of the festival on Jan 30. The event features an exhibition, a seminar and a dairy cattle contest, which will show Thai farmers’ capacity in development of dairy cattle breeds. Moreover, a brand marketing campaign contest will be held for students with creative ideas to promote recognition of the state-run DPO’s Thai-Danish milk brand, which will be upgraded to be the national milk in 2018. The winner will receive award of 100,000 baht and HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s trophy. A cowboy night party is scheduled on February 3 with many fun-fair activities such as a cowboy and cowgirl costume contest, games, classical Thai dancing, ballroom dancing and live music. (TNA)
