Removal of Royal Crematorium complex 26 per cent completed

BANGKOK, Feb 1 (TNA) -- The removal of the royal crematorium and related buildings, structures and sculptures has been 26 per cent completed and the task will finish within March. Culture Minister Vira Rojpojchanarat said the removal of the crematorium alone was 28 per cent completed and already covered its architectural and electrical elements, sculptures, pavements, the royal pyre and the partitions of the pyre. The sculptures, the royal pyre and its partitions were kept at the Bangkok National Museum and the Office of Traditional Arts in Nakhon Pathom province. The removal of the royal crematorium alone will take 55 days. The Royal Merit-Making Pavilion or Phra Thinang Song Tham has been 25 per cent removed. The task concerning the hall will take 60 days. The Royal Merit-Making Pavilion will be moved to the National Archives in Commemoration of His Majesty the King’s Golden Jubilee in Pathum Thani province and will be exhibited there. (TNA)
