Japan further funds Budo center construction

(KPL) The Japanese government has provided JPY601 million (around 529 billion kip) to the Lao National Sports Committee for the implementation of phase 2 of construction of the Lao-Japan Budo Center in Vientiane.
The agreement on such a grant was signed here on Tuesday by Manager of Japanese International Affairs Department, Mr Yukinobu Morikawa, and Vice President of Lao National Sports Committee, Mr. Somphou Phongsa.The construction of the center is following an agreement between the Lao government and its Japanese counterpart on 19 December last year.
Over 352 billion kip has been spent on the phase 1 of construction. The construction is expected to be over in October this year.
The Japanese government also provides another sum JPY10 million (around 850 million kip) to Laos for constructing Karatedo Training Center and training Lao athletes domestically and in Japan.
