Firebreaks created in Huai Kha Kaeng

UTHAI THANI, Feb 12 (TNA) – The forest fire control station in Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Uthai Thani is gearing up to build firebreaks in the dry season. Head of the Huai Kha Kaeng fire control station in Uthai Thani Chakkrit Singthanasarn, led officials to build firebreaks in fire-prone areas between the Huai Kha Kaeng and the Mae Wong National Park in Nakhon Sawan Officials can create firebreaks about 4-5 kilometres long each day and they plan to finish the work, covering the fire-prone areas by the end of this month. In an attempt to prevent forest fire, often breaking out during the dry season, guards will be stationed on the towers to monitor possible fire around the clock. Rapid response teams will be on standby while patrol officers will be on duty until April. (TNA)
