French minister visits Thailand to boost trade ties

BANGKOK, Feb 14 (TNA) - Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Minister of State attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs visited Thailand for the first time to strengthen economic ties with the kingdom. The minister met Thai ministers and Thai businesspeople, investing in France to discuss on the French government’s ongoing reform to attract foreign investors. He said his visit is the first visit under the administration of President Emmanuel Macron and it is a good opportunity to strengthen trade ties between the two countries. Many French companies are ready to become business partners with Thai companies for investment in targeted industries under the Thailand 4.0 policy and in the Eastern Economic Corridor project. France will cooperate with Thailand for closer EU-Asean trade ties, he added. Thailand is France’s second largest market in ASEAN and is the second destination for French foreign direct investment.
